Meet Catskill Canine Rescue's Adoptable Dogs

Mona is a 2-year-old, 75-pound sweetheart who’s as close to perfect as they come in the house. She’s completely housebroken, non-destructive, and rock-solid in her crate.

Mona loves other dogs, though she can be a bit of a handful for some — we like to call it “big personality energy.” She’d do best with a calm, easygoing male dog who can balance out her enthusiasm. She’s also cat-friendly and great with kids, though she’s best suited for homes with children 5 and up (she sometimes forgets her size when she’s excited).

Her favorite activities include playing fetch, swimming, and hiking — just maybe skip the hikes on really hot days, since she’s not built for the heat.

Mona is currently in board and train, continuing to polish her obedience skills and social manners. Her foster mom and trainer both say she’s an absolute star student and an all-around wonderful dog.

We honestly can’t believe she hasn’t been scooped up yet! If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, affectionate companion who’s up for adventure but also loves to chill at home, Mona just might be your perfect match.

Rue is an adorable 11-week-old Lab mix with the sweetest snuggly personality. He absolutely loves everyone he meets and is a big fan of playing with other dogs. Rue is a toy enthusiast (seriously, he can’t get enough!) and is already showing promise on a leash.

Like any puppy his age, Rue is still working on potty training and crate time—he may whine a bit but he settles down nicely. With his loving nature, playful energy, and eagerness to learn, Rue is sure to grow into the most wonderful companion.

Meet Joey! This sweet, affectionate boy is full of love and snuggles—he’ll happily soak up hugs, pets, and kisses. Joey is house-trained, knows a couple of tricks (sit and paw!), and has been a polite houseguest in foster care. He’s got plenty of energy for walks and outdoor time, though he can be a bit vocal when keeping an eye on the world from the window. Joey has done well meeting other dogs on walks and is happiest when he’s included in the action. With his goofy charm and love for snacks (especially cheese sticks!), Joey is ready to find his forever family.

At just 5 months old (birthday 3/9/25), this handsome pup already tips the scales at a solid 45 lbs of pure sweetness. Bruno is a total love sponge who enjoys snuggles just as much as he enjoys a good game of fetch. 🎾

He’s great with other dogs and would be happy to share a home with a dog-savvy cat (he really wants to be friends, even if the cat isn’t so sure yet). Bruno is quickly learning the ropes — stuffed toys are becoming his new obsession, he’s adjusting wonderfully to his crate, and potty training is coming along nicely!

Bear is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu with a heart full of love and a personality that will make you smile every day. This little guy is playful and full of charm — he loves nothing more than rolling over for belly rubs and soaking up all the attention he can get.

After a recent spa day at Shampoodle in Delmar, Bear is looking extra handsome and feeling his best! His fresh trim really shows off his adorable face and those expressive eyes that melt hearts instantly.

When he’s not showing off his new look or playing, you’ll probably find him snuggled up and snoring away — his sweet snores are just part of his charm! Bear would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate friend who’s always ready to make you laugh.
